             abstract = "Natural resources have been used Improperly since antiquity, when 
                         man has ceased to be nomadic and has become sedentary, with that, 
                         the environment has been degraded over the years. It is known that 
                         the undue use of natural resources is the pricinpal cause of the 
                         impacts on the environment. Such impacts are not always positive. 
                         In this way, environmental systems require an integrated study of 
                         their geoenvironmental components. The municipality of 
                         Quixeramobim is inserted in the semi-arid region of Cear{\'a} and 
                         presents the environmental picture with natural limitations and is 
                         subject to the modifications printed in the landscape, promoted by 
                         man''s way of relating to the environment, based on the use of 
                         natural resources not respecting the support capacity of the 
                         environmental systems. Thus, the research aims to map and identify 
                         the potentialities and limitations of environmental systems in 
                         relation to the use of the municipality of Quixeramobim, 
                         Cear{\'a}. For the accomplishment of the objectives, 
                         geoprocessing and remote sensing techniques were used, as well as 
                         a theoretical research based on literature review. It should be 
                         emphasized that the study sought to produce information capable of 
                         supporting the analysis of environmental systems, so that such 
                         efforts can be used as an additional tool to assist in decision 
                         making in the planning of the municipality under study.",
